Sewing My Dream Wardrobe ~ A Pierrot Blouse

I've recently become OBSESSED with Pierrot Clowns! A surprise to me as I generally find clowns unpleasant but a photograph of Hollywood star, Charlotte Colbert dressed in a sparkling Harlequin outfit sent me down this particular rabbit hole so I went with it.

I created a little inspiration board on Pinterest using their collage tab, so fun and really easy to do. I love putting ideas together like this digitally as it's not always possible to create them physically and I like to come back to them over and over again for more inspiration.

I doodled a tech drawing for my Pierrot blouse and then created a little paper doll version for my Myrtle May, posing here with Mr Ghost Floofstinkelstein. Even though this takes a little time and is, to be honest, a luxury for me, I find that it motivates me even more to make the piece. Sometimes, it does go the other way however but either way, I've had a lovely time.

I filmed a step by step pattern cutting tutorial for my Pierrot Blouse which you can follow for FREE here if you'd like to make one for yourself.

I used a truly beautiful Swiss dot cotton with dots the colour of Ghosts nose that I bought from Merchant & Mills a few moons ago. It's so lovely and I wish I could get more to make a dress but I think they have sold out sadly.

My Pierrot Blouse is the perfect piece for spring but I do feel the collar needs to be a bit more, if you know what I mean! A tweak for when I make this again, which I will undoubtedly do very soon.
Happy Spring sewing my Lovelies,
Tara x
