I recreate and design garments based on vintage pieces and I focus on the 1930’s to the 1950’s but am happy to look further back in time. This can be copying or cloning a vintage item you have (I don’t need to take it apart!), create patterns and garments based on vintage photographs, drawings, from films or using vintage dressmaking patterns that are no longer copyrighted. Please look at my gallery to see my work and to give you an idea of what I can do.
I’m always happy to take on specialist and unusual commissions!
Please note, out of respect for the creative and intellectual property of other designers, I do not undertake commissions that ask me to replicate another’s work.
The price guide of your commission includes:
All design work ~ illustrations/Technical Drawings/creative research
Sourcing fabrics and notions and all associated costs
Pattern cutting garment, development, sizing, grading vintage patterns
Cutting out, sewing and production of custom made garment
Hand finishing of garment
Any studio based fittings and alterations needed
All associated costs in undertaking each individual commission. (fees/studio costs/threads/machinery usage)
It does NOT include fabrics, specialist techniques, off site fittings, notions or postage!
For a detailed quote, please email me and we can discuss your ideas.
All quotes are based on the requirements of the commission and are individual. The £30 booking fee is taken off the final invoice.
Please give a brief idea of what you would like in the notes section or email me to discuss your ideas.
I source fabrics on an individual basis and depending on the individual commission, but I’m happy to use fabrics provided by my client upon approval.
A 50% deposit is required prior to commencement of work with the remainder paid 2 weeks before completion. All dates and amounts are agreed with my client and I’m happy to work out payment plans when preferred.
Commissions can take up to 8 weeks, with complex designs taking longer so please take this into account if you would like something for a special occasion. Bridal can take up to 6 months and I only accept a few bridal clients per year depending on what the commission involves. All deadlines are agreed with my client at onset of work.
