A favourite pastime of mine is to while away the odd hour or 2 in Pinterestland, finding inspiration and exploring ideas and looking at pretty things. I have lost days, weeks even months of my life in this way but I feel it's time well spent!

I stumbled upon a wonderful photograph from a Life magazine article that sparked the idea for my October content on YouTube ~ A woman in a black dress standing in front of a wall, mounted with all the additions she could use to turn the the dress into a fresh new concept. This was a really popular way to extend a wardrobe that contained far fewer pieces and the nifty seamstress/needlewoman could sew beautiful collars, cuffs and decorative features to make these garments go a long way.

So, I decided to sew up a version of my favourite commercial sewing pattern and give the concept a go! I hope you enjoy and follow along to see the 13 ways I style up my little black 1930's dress! And if you give this a go, I'd love to hear about it!
