The Junebug Duster Jacket sewing pattern began with a love of vintage utility garments—pieces made not just to look good, but to live your life in!
Drawing on 1940s and 50s chore jackets, it’s been designed as a modern staple: something you can throw on over anything, in any season. This is a slower make ~ one that rewards your time with a garment that only gets better the more you wear it.
Junebug features a trapeze or swing style silhouette with a notched and shaped simple collar. There are 2 patch pockets that echo the collar detail and oversize cuffs that repeat this beautiful detailing. You have the option to topstitch the collar, pockets and cuffs to create a lovely feature that is inspired by those little finishing details that made vintage garments of this type so special.
There are no fastenings although a button could easily be incorporated. The jacket is unlined and the seams are finished with a bias binding sewn using the Hong Kong method but you have the option to overlock if you prefer.
Sizing
Junebug is an oversize and very easy to wear garment coming in 3 sizes. For reference, I have a 46" bust and wear the Medium size and am 5 ft 6"
