How to channel Bianca Jagger style for your Wedding
As far as I'm concerned, Bianca Jagger has to be one of the most stylish women there has ever been and you really can't go wrong if you add a little drop of her iconic style to your big day- or really just any day! She completely broke the mold when it comes to Bridal Style, and she did it with such class and originality.
Here's all the reasons why I LOVE her style and a bit of inspiration to help you channel the spirit of Bianca on your special day!
What's not to love about Bianca's Yves Saint Laurent bespoke designed bridal suit? A beautifully tailored tuxedo jacket, with nothing underneath! Or, if you aren't quite so daring as Mrs Jagger, perhaps a little camisole? A vintage one would be even better! (Check out the following vintage fairs for vintage treasures: Frock me vintage and Clerkenwell Vintage Fashion Fair ) Paired with a long line skirt, a sleek silhouette is created which is super flattering on a multitude of figures- and remember, when something is made to measure for you, magic can happen! I'm serious!
If a tuxedo or suit isn't quite you, you could channel Bianca through your accessories- a flower embellished broad brim hat with a veil would be great if you "give good hat" or how about a garland of delicate, seasonal flowers worn as a bracelet? What a great alternative to a bouquet, if you aren't a bouquet girl or fab for your bridesmaids. She also wore a little feather bird on her lapel, which I love, but may not be everyone's cup of tea. Just about all of Bianca's outfits are finished off with ankle strap platforms, and my faves have to be by Terry De Haviland. My dream shoe is the Margaux in gold.
In these wedding photographs taken by Patrick Lichfield on her Parisian wedding day, you can see that although there are a lot of elements to her bridal outfit, she isn't overwhelmed by them. Bianca wears her dress rather than the dress wearing her! Which sounds like an odd thing to say, but the most stylish brides are never overshadowed by their dress. They are just more awesomely and beautifully themselves!
Other elements of her style you could use for inspiration include Edwardian style or antique dresses, turbans, long and lean silhouettes or wrap dresses. You could also arrive at the church on a white horse, after all, that's how Bianca arrived onto the dance floor of the discotastic Studio 54!

I find Bianca Jagger so inspirational I designed and named a dress for her! The Bianca Wrap dress is an easy to wear, flattering style which was also partly inspired by my Grandmothers 1940's wedding dress (for more on that, see here).
This evening wear version worn by Lily is made in a vintage viscose I found in an Antiques market in a shimmering Pewter Grey- perfect for dancing the night away!
The Bianca Luxe is fully lined and looks so stunning here on Hannah. It looks great in any silk and I'd love a bride to commission it in lace- how beautiful would that be! As a wrap dress it's also VERY forgiving, so you could eat as much of your wedding cake as you like!
Ultimately, the most inspirational thing about Bianca Jagger is her intelligence and contribution to the Human Rights movement on a global scale. She studied political science before she ever met a Rolling Stone and has won numerous awards for her activism and humanitarian work! And she did it all looking Badass amazing!
I hope you've found some inspiring ideas here and whatever your wedding inspiration, i hope you have the most beautiful day!
